- Health "ID cards"
- Policies sold door-to-door
- Plans sold to you by email or phone

- Any limited-benefit plans (which are legal)
- Responding to flyers offering incredibly low-priced deals
- Health Insurance coverage just "too good to be true"
- Salespeople claiming to be working for a government agency or government sanctioned program
- Having to pay extra to join association or union to enroll
- Any policy which is declared to be exempt from state licensing
