I've been with AFLAC for a few months now...and probably won't last another. They don't invest anything in you. You pay for the class, your license, you gas, dressing the part, etc. Pay is 100% commission.

The district managers are told to recruit, recruit, recruit. You will drive the wheels off your car trying to make contacts. I've found that while the market where I'm working on paper isn't "saturated" with AFLAC accounts, almost 90% of all businesses contacted have alreadly recently been contacted by AFLAC. It's not uncommon to get a response like "you are the 5th person from AFLAC to stop by this month."

It's possible to make a decent living, but it's not the pretty picture that is painted during the interviews. Working for AFLAC probably would be an ideal situation for someone who has other income coming in, like someone retired, but if you have a family I wouldn't recommend quiting your day job.
