Hi. I was working for American Income Life. They get agents sign on with them by telling them that they set the appointments for them. Well, that's true but the problem is that most of the people they set the appointments with have absolutely NO IDEA why we are really there. I can't tell you how many times I've gone out to someone's home only to have them tell me that they did not know that the appointment had anything to do with insurance. At this rate I may as well just go door to door. At least that way I wouldn't be spending a ton of money on gas (not to mention the cost of the actual appointment) to go see people who want to rush me out the door the second they realize why I am really there. I've been going out and trying to prospect for my own appointments but in order to get a steady stream of them to replace the appointments the company sets for me would take quite some time and I, like most people, need to make money NOW. So, I am going back to my old job where I was working before full time. It's not making me rich but it was paying the bills which is more than I can say for AIL. I've realized that for now I need a guaranteed paycheck. But I refuse to give up on insurance entirely. I want to work part time around my full time job and I only want to go on appointments where the person knows why I'm there before I get there. I spoke with people at NAA and from what they told me they seem to fit the bill. I know that the leads cost money but if they're good leads that I can make some money off of them then I don't mind. The cost of doing business right? And I don't mind working hard as long as there's a payoff. With AIL I was working well over 50 hours a week and barely getting by. But I'm afraid of wasting more time, effort and money with someone else. If anyone could let me know more about NAA I would appreciate it. Or if anyone knows about a company with real leads that allows agents to work part time that would be good, too. Thanks!!
