We have been with USAA for over 25 years and when we bought a house 9 years ago we insured it thru USAA. Over the years we had a few questions about our coverage e.g. when lightening struck the house twice and knocked out the phones and TVs but we never filed a claim for those things!!! the only claim ever filed and paid by USAA was a loss just recently. At that time USAA suggested we buy a high value item insurance. WE agreed to that and the matter was forwarded to underwriting. Well, underwriting called to let us know that we could not get that additional insurance because of our 'high' claim history. Come to find out each time we called with general question about coverage USAA logged it as a claim with no money paid. Yes, there have been 4 questions since 1999. And to add insult to injury, USAA is indicating that they will not renew our policy. The recent loss USAA paid did cost them $350. Our annual homeowners insurance is $1200 and NO claims before this last one ever. Go figure!!!! We know that it will be next to impossibleto get any homeowners insurance since all insurance companies run a C.L.U.E report which shows the claims 'history' and even how much was paid out. Short of sueing USAA for nondisclosure of this report practice - other companies tell you about his - what to do????
