Insurance is a tough business. NAA is good, but so are State Farm and Allstate.

There are things to remember. If they say you'll have to work very hard, they are being honest. If they say things like "six-figures first year" or "Unlimited free leads", they are telling lies.

I started with a small agency which sold multiple lines from different companies. They insisted we only sell off their leads. Their leads were garbage. We would all get about 8-10 leads per week at the Monday sales meeting. Usually about half weren't interested in the slightest or had told the telemarketer not to call back. Others were homebound mental patients, people living in poverty or over age 65, etc.

Only go with the big, big companies and sell for them. If you go to a small agency, it will be a miracle if you make money at all.

If you go to an interview and everyone is making money - even the agents; not just the managers, then it is probably a safe bet. Don't get locked into an agency with garbage leads and little support. Sadly, that is about 80% of agencies.
