Hello All, I've been interested in working with insurance for a while now, with the idea of eventually building a full financial planning practice specializing in insurance. I have considered getting the CFP and other certifications, but what I am really interested in is finding an insurance company that has good products and good training, and can help me while I get up to speed, and build a long term relationship. I want a company that respects both its people and customers. I know of a few companies that viewed their people as oatmeal: throw them up against the wall and see what sticks. That's not the kind of company I want. My background is in finance and I worked on Wall Street for a number of years in the fixed income department (where insurance companies were our biggest clients). I came to Manhattan Beach, CA several years ago, and want to find a company in this area. I know I could learn the products and get licensed quickly, but I would really like to know what people recommend as to which companies would be good choices for someone like me? Which are best? Which ones should I avoid? Which provide a starting salary? Which have good training? Thanks for any and all input. Gene
