Well, don't you have it sweet. Wish my DSC and other folks were so helpful! There is a better way to do sales than cold calling every day - which by the way I was told they did not do! If they had told me that was what was expected, I never would have signed up.

The promise of lots of training and support was SO exagerated. My DSC didn't even come to my first appointment!

You think just because you have confidence that flooding the marketplace with new agents every month is no big deal? Just like any other business, if there too many of something the chance to make a good profit goes down. If you are the only store in a 5 mile radius, and suddenly 20 stores open up, you don't think there will be an impact on the first store?

It's nice that some people are lucky and make a decent living immediately, but Aflac's way of doing things is really a poor excuse for a sales & marketing model. They would do much better by offering a decent salary and good commissions, with a territory and limited amount of reps. Other corporations are successful with that model and Aflac could be too. If they want to keep costs down, they could get kids right out of college rather than the seasoned sales professionals.

: As far as the "telemarketer" comment, I will tell you that we don't have our new agents on the phone at all in my area. They are with me, side by side, walking into businesses.

: Next, I have been a part of the interview process several times and I can tell you that there are definitely people Aflac will not hire. Man, oh man, let me tell you sometime about these people. Anyway, my point is if you are a professional, well-kept, friendly business person Aflac will extend the opportunity to you, just for the asking.
: If you are in a bigger market there will be other Agents. However, if you are confident in yourself then what do you care how many other Agents are out there? Believe in yourself and you will be successful.
