: Well, if you got bad vibes from the company trying to get an additional $199 out of you, that is your intuition. Also when I have a good business opportunity, you think i will go out and share that with the world?

: I am not going out and recruiting basically more competition. And as far as negativity, there are alot of negative things going on in life insurance, just like the next business.

: I would find your niche if I were you and strive to be different. Pleave the pack and primerica, and be you. Celebrate your individuality and what you offer your clients, not get lumped in with the army of agents.

: I never liked the MLM or network marketing model, even though it's supposed to be highly successful.
: Products are just not sold on that small of a scale anymore.

: CC

: : OK, here's my deal. I'm a primerica Rep. I'm a PFA for those who know the different levels. I've been with the company for a year, sold 1 small term policy to a client. Much of my attention has been focused on finishing school, and working on starting a music career, which is where my true passion and interests lie.

: : My upline used to be very passionate about Primerica (he's a District, meaning he gets a higher commision than me, but still not at full-time status, and he's 26. He quit his job 3 years ago to persue Primerica), but he decided this morning that it's really not his cup of tea. He is starting a marketing and entertainment company with myself and a few other partners completely unrelated to Primerica or financial services, and is informing his RVP as we speak. Personally, I am debating whether or not to continue with Primerica or to leave it altogether, and I want this discussion to help me make that decision.

: : I'm a senior majoring in economics (with a concentration in finance), and I'm taking my final class in the financial economics track. I can understand any financial concept I need to analyze Primerica's business practices and the value of our services. I'm not a sheep, and I don't blindly accept things from my upline (or anyone else) without checking them myself. But having only sold 1 policy, I don't have alot of experience with actual Primerica transactions to know how ethical (or not) we are, and most training is done "in the field" so it's not like I can just look up the company policy on anything and everything that might come up. That's where you guys come in - if you've had experience with the company, either as an ex-rep or a prospective client that may or may not have actually done business with them, you can help.

: : What I want to do is start a real discussion on the company. No flaming, no indignant claims about how people can't see the truth. Just simple, logical analysis. I want to hear all the claims about why Primerica is a scam. If you think being a MLM company is a bad thing, tell me about it and why. If you think we are selling people brass and calling it gold, show me an example, and include some mathematics to illustrate your point empirically. In return, I promise to be fair and accept a valid criticism.

: : Also, if there's anyone from Primerica who disagrees, they're welcomed to chime in too, as long as they don't start mudslinging. I want this to be a totally objective analysis of Primerica and whether we are a totally new and innovative way of doing business, or just another example of widespread corruption in the financial services sector at the VERY highest levels. (Citigroup has already gotten in trouble for various misdeeds, so I'm not disillusioned that they can do no wrong simply by virtue of being a big company).

: : My hope is that when we're done here, everyone participating will have a very clear idea of just what kind of company Primerica is, and if it's not a good one, then all of us that are currently involved can find an alternate source of income.
