Back in October of 2009 Aetna Healthcare began running commercials on a local Connecticut TV station promising a free 60-minute "Let's Talk" phone card to anyone interested in receiving information about their Medicare part D and Medicare supplement plans. My wife was looking into changing both her and my father's part D plans so she called the phone number immediately to request the information and the free phone card. She was told that the cards were not in the information packets yet and that she should call back in 2 weeks, which she did.She was then assured that the phone card would be in her information packet. It was not! When she called back the Aetna associate claimed that it was a limited time offer while supplies lasted although this was not mentioned on their commercial. My wife finally talked to a supervisor who promised that he would send her a new information packet including the phone card.He even said that he would confirm it's presence physically. When the new packet arrived it also lacked the phone card! This time when my wife called back a different supervisor said that the previous one had lied when he promised to send her the phone card.It is sad that you can't even trust a company that wants you to trust them with your health to tell you the truth! On Thursday afternoon Aetna started running the same commercial again after it was off the air for about 6 weeks!Aetna is now off of our list of potential Insurance companies. They are lying to sick and elderly people!Shame on you,Aetna!
