If I go out of the Aetna Health network, my $3000 deductible HSA policy becomes $6000 deductible. Also, I found out, after going to a doctor, that Aetna Health Insurance doesn't count doctor visits or blood work toward the deductible. (I just had $900 worth of lab work done.) So my $200 doctor visit and $900 worth of lab tests don't even count toward my deductible. Also, if you try to call Aetna and talk to someone, you have to wait so very long, and sometimes Aetna's phone system is down and you can't call at all. Been Verified : Jax, so right! If a plan requires a referral letter or precertification, it's the subscriber's obligation to make sure it happens. : Still, Aetna truly does have a high degree of suckitude when compared with other sucky insurance companies. It seems to me they go out of their way to be complete buttholes.
