Moria:

I feel your pain. I had two cars stolen in my lifetime. Personal belongings are usually not covered with auto insurance. Most of the times, without a special rider, even modifications to the car are not covered!

Why don't you go to the car insurance company adjuster and tell them you are not satisfied with the overall amount? A bigger settlement check may enable you to buy those items that were not covered.

I was covered with AAA, and this happened to me. I complained to the company about lowball treatment by the adjuster, and the company took over and made me more than my truck was worth.

: I was moving and had normal work and personal items in my car along with moving boxes when my car was stolen from outside my mom's house.
: My car was recovered, by the police, but all my belongings were stolen.
: My homeowners has denied the loss "My investigation revealed that these items were taken from the vehicle and not your new residence, which is unfortunately, not covered by your policy."
: Can someone help me understand this. Why would by baby stroller, my briefcase, my sirius car radio, etc not be covered because I was parked away from my home?
: Thank you,
: Mo
