When they get the chance Farmers will stick it to you. Recently my son was run off the road by another driver who kept on going. And because we couldn't find the other driver, they had to treat it as if it was his fault. If that's not bad enough when I took my truck in to the repair shop that they recommended, and because my truck had been in a wreck before by the previous owner the body shop didn't want to work on it. So they wanted to total it. Farmers then told me how much they were going to give me for my truck which the blue book price was more than double their offer. The adjustor didn't even stop and look at it he just game me the base price for a 94 ford ranger. I told them to forget it I'll get the truck fixed by somebody and at that time the adjustor said that because this was the second accident on this vehicle they wouldn't insure it anymore even I did get it fixed. So I took the settlement thinking well I need Insurance and than I got the phone call saying that because of the accident they were going to drop me anyways. So after receiving all those payments and literally stealing my truck from out from under me. Now I will soon be without insurance. Don't kid yourself insurance in this country is a scam the government makes you buy it and the decent folks do. But in my state that's only about 45% of the people the other 55% don't so guess who pays for it we do. Does the government go out and try and stop this not hard enough. Now when I go looking for new Insurance the one of the first insurace questions that everyone asks is had you had any accident within the last 5 years and guess what they can STICK IT TO ME AGAIN!!!! What's making things even worse some companies aren't taking on any new customer's, and some don't want teenage drivers and the ones that are left their prices are so ridiculous it's not even funny. As criminal as this is there should be a law against it.
