Barb:

Send certified letters to both MetLife and State Farm challenging their claim. You might have to get involved in a mail campaign, but you don't want this follwoing you around when the answer is to correct their erroneous reporting. Easier said than done, but it's their #$&@, not yours.

: I am furious right now so please understand if this sounds nasty. In August we purchased a trampoline. We did not have any idea that this purchase would cause us insurance problems. We got a letter in the mail from MetLife that our policy was being cancelled because of this purchase. Now if I knew this would be a problem I might not have purchased it. How they got the information that I made the purchase, I have no idea. So now we find a new insurance company to cover us with the trampoline (State Farm). All is well. Today my husband gets a call from State Farm & they tell us they are going to cancel us because we had a previous clain into MetLife. We asked what it was & they told us it was for water damage from a broken dish water. There was never a claim filed!!!! Yes, our dishwasher did break & we called MetLife to ask the question about what to do. That was as far as it went, a question. The dishwasher was covered under warranty & replaced. No insurance claims with MetLife. Now because I asked a question I am being penalized by State Farm because MetLife did not clean up their files!!! I am told there is nothing they can do about it. So what am I supposed to do, sell my house because I asked a quesiton!! Why don't they focus on the people who abuse insurance, not the people who pay yearly, never place claims.... So unfair. Sorry for venting but I have had it. I'll probably have to visit the Dr. after this for a heart attach at this rate.
