We had an AFLAC agent come to our office today and offer several plans to us employees. He said that all but one type of coverage is deducted pre-tax from our paychecks, so it will marginally lower our taxes.
Does AFLAC do what it says? Is it a good value for the premium? (To cover me and my wife with Accident, Hospital, Personal Recovery Plus, Intensive Care, and Cancer; plus just me with Short-Term Disability, it will cost $2,200.00 per year - $91.20 per semi-monthly paycheck)
I don't have time to do the extensive research required to make an informed decision, so I hope the people who read this board will give me some guidance.
Please note that the agent did not sell all of those policies as a single "package." I totaled them all up myself since I'm an all-or-nothing personality! lol :)
Thank you for any advice and guidance.
