Do you have a regular disability policy with much greater coverage? A good medical plan? If not, get these taken care of first before SUPPLMENTING with AFLAC. This is a very niche product, so i would proceed with care. : : Agent : : : We had an AFLAC agent come to our office today and offer several plans to us employees. He said that all but one type of coverage is deducted pre-tax from our paychecks, so it will marginally lower our taxes. : : : Does AFLAC do what it says? Is it a good value for the premium? (To cover me and my wife with Accident, Hospital, Personal Recovery Plus, Intensive Care, and Cancer; plus just me with Short-Term Disability, it will cost $2,200.00 per year - $91.20 per semi-monthly paycheck) : : : I don't have time to do the extensive research required to make an informed decision, so I hope the people who read this board will give me some guidance. : : : Please note that the agent did not sell all of those policies as a single "package."
