: My husband was involved in a vehicle accident in 2001. He was in a company vehicle wating for the light to turn Green when he noticed a Police Patrol car angeled toward his vehicle. My husband woke up in the E/R with broken ribs, shoulder, back, and he busted the company vehicle's passanger side window with his head. Obviously, this was during the course of him job, so worker's comp. is to be filed and for loss wages and medical bills. Liberty Mutual is my husband's former employer insurance carrier. Three after the accident, the hospitals, emergency room, and clinic were calling us regarding the medical bills that apparantly Liberty Mutual haven't paid. We contacted his employer to settle this once and for all. A month passed, collection letter begun pouring in, again Liberty Mutual wasn't going to pay. We contacted Liberty Mutual personally and they told us that they were not aware of any accident let alone any medical claims connected to Worker's Coomp. It is now December 2002. those bills are still not paid. My husband was finally released by his Physician in June, the same day he returned to work, his employer laid him off due to lack of experience eventhough he was on that position for 2 years prior to the accident. We finally found out what happened to the Officer that was driving the Police Patrol car, he blacked out for no reason at all, the doctors were puzzled, they couldn't come up with any thing. Of course, when you deal with the government there is always something to prevent from liability, so because he was in his uniform and in the Patrol car, we are unable to file a claim against the City. Liberty Mutual wanted to settle the case out of court and wanted to pay my husband $5000. $5000!! Can you believe that. My husband can't even raise his arm above his head, he is in constant pain, his life style have changed tremendously, we can't do the things he used to do and that's all they want to pay. Needless to say, we will take our change in court, we will be satisfy with whatever the judge's verdict, not their Pitty settlement.

I broke my neck while swimming at a freinds house. There homeowners ( Liberty Mutual) wont contact us or even talk with us or the homeowner. All we asked for was the medical coverage. Now were getting ready to take this to court. Its a shame we pay insurance premiums yet the insurance companys waste ther time and money fighting everything instead of just doing their job. I bet we would see a serious drop in big settlements if they would quit blowing off peaople for extended lengths of time.
