Keep after Geico as well. They sent you to their repair shop. They have guaranteed the repair and actually advertise that (just heard it on the radio 1/2 hr ago). This is exactly why most adjusters and companies did not recommend shops in the past; it puts them in the business of collision repair. I still think its unethical, though almost every company has "pro shops". Their shop gives them a break on rates and cuts down expenses because the insurance company probably did not even inspect the vehicle, but relied upon digital photos from the shop.

Bad deal for ethical shops as well, as instead of fixing cars they have to play adjuster/appraiser as well. Free work for the insurance company. Bad deal all around when you get screwed like this guy apparently did.

: : : I had a run-n with a deer last month and to make a long story short. You recommend that I go to Auto Collison Clinic, 410-8792551, 120 Connolly Rd. in Fallston, Md. 21047.

: : : It was estimated that it would take eight days for repair and it's starting to become a real nightmare...........

: : : At first they said that it would take a week and then the middle of the week. And they called me at work at night and said that they will be closed on Thanksgivings and the day after but they will have my truck ready by friday.

: : Somehow I lost the check that Geico gave me so I asked what could I do. My adjuster, Mr. R. Lanceltta wasn't in at the time and Geico stated that he would be in on the Monday after Thanksgivings.

: : : The Auto Clinic wouldn't take check or credit card. I didn't have the insurance for a rental. It came out of my pocket. After all of this I got my truck and friday night until now I am having problems with it.

: : : Pieces wasn't replaced that were broken by the deer. The paint job has dust in it which I can see and feel.

: : : My whole headlight assy. on both sides aren't mounted in with the clamps needed. I am very upset about the whole thing. Now I have to rent another car and they said that it would take a day hopefully. On my claim 0064744780101206-01 It stated that it would take eight days to repair my vehicle and It will take longer and it's coming out of my pockets which I think it's not really fair to me.

: : : Thanks for your ear! Jewel W. Henry

: When you wernt to pick up your car, did you personally inspect the work? If you did and saw the "slip shod" work why did you accept the vehicle until the work was completed to your satisfaction before you signed a waiver representing the work had been completed and turned the insurance company check over to them?

: I am sorry, but I do not recall seeing the message as to who gave you the name of the auto repair shop. If I had, I would have informed you of the step by step procedure in making sure that the work had been completed to your satisfaction.

: I am surprised that the moderator of this message board doesn't follow his messages posted here more carefully so he can monitor it to see if any incomplete or erroneous information is being posted here.

: I even saw a string of messages posted here where it was obvious that a poster impersonated a Florida Professor of Economics teaching at FSU.

: What he did was he knowingly and intentionally posted lies representing he was the FSU Professor just so he could save face and not have to admit that a different Professor had named him as a "Loser" in a heated Economics debate.

: There are other message boards on the Internet that deal with insurance Fraud. You should post your story to 100insers.com and share your story over there too.
