: : I am a disabled 49 year old male married since'74 to my wife Cheri. We have had allstate insurance for about 25 years. On May 6, 2002 we got robbed, bad enough to have to replace my garage door. We called the Police, (Sherriff), who took a horrible statement, he lied, we Contacted the Sherriff's Dept. and they agreed, and they re wrote the report. I called Allstate and reported the problem, and was told "...sorry but we are using the original report, Allstate then told es that the claim would be settled in a week, Corey Hutsell a claim rep had it authorized for us to spend about $3200, for replacing essentials, well I called on Monday and was told that we would not be able to get re-imbursed, our claim was not going to be honored, and the claim was handed over to a Law firm, who so they say, interviewed me, I was under the influence of my daily medications, 180mg Morphine. Soma, 40 Mg of Hydrocodone, and Valium, all of which mess with your mind and they said I was taped and only after my wife and I were denied coverage did I get a copy of the transcript, I do not remember giving anyone the right to tape me, My wife has medical and universal power of Attorney over me just incase things like this happen, I cannor speak for myself due to the medications, I am on SSI Disability the only Lawyer we could find wanted a $5000 retainer, no can do. Not on $1300 per month. Can anyone relate? I have recieved Nothing from Allstate, not even the money they promised us, told us we could come pick up the check but I couldn't get there by closing time, The Claim mow amounts to $42000, I have a little studio I play around in I have been a semi Pro musician & engineer for 35 years. I collected lots of equiptment, it was the only thing that brought me any joy after my disability and now it's all gone, My wife had a large collection of camera equipment she lost it all. I have been faithful to Allstate for years. I just don't think its fair! : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx : It is not my intent to intentionally offend you sir, but could you explain to the viewers of this message board how you obtained the credentials of being a "semi-pro musician and a engineer" at the age of fourteen? That's quite a feat. : I agree with you. You should have let your wife call in your claim. : Ken Young : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx : Well Ken my first TV appearance eas when I was 15 and I avedly played in Bars and clubs untill I was 17 when I went on my first US tour, I repeated this anually for 5 years, Our (Brotherhood) first single was in the Billboard top 20 in 1971 The youngest performer in the Billboard top ten this uear was 12 when he hit the charts, Li'L Bow Wow. Not some feat, just talent and that comes from hard work, I like Chet Atkins, God rest his soul got My first guitar when I was 10, But like all of us I grew up and touring is not much of a life and I wanted to get married, I own and operate Starlight Sessions Recording Studio, as a teaching Not for Profit business, by current youngest student is 8 yrs old. All of which has nothing to do with insurance, nor the nasty habits of Insurance Lawyers. My beef is that I have to Sue! Lawsiuts are no fun. But that's what I have to do, and I didn't call them, they called me while my wife was out earning food money, it's fun being disabled, but don't pity me. If you want to help, vote to pass laws that do not allow such behavior. Ronn
