Everyone beware!! State Farm's policy regarding which claims are paid and which ones are dismissed is EXTREMELY skewed! I recently filed a claim with State Farm under my homeowner's policy; the claim surrounded a defective shower pan contained inside a tiled shower enclosure. The adjuster arrived and inspected the enclosure. He determined that State Farm was not responsible, and he citied a "continuous leakage" clause in the policy. He told me that they do not cover wood rot. Ironically, my best friend filed a claim with State Farm a couple of months later; his claim surrounded a leak from his AC unit inside his house. His floor was severally buckled and rotted in several areas. His claim was paid minus his deductable. Same insurance company + same kind of damage + different adjuster = INSANITY! How can one claim be paid and the other denied when the damage/cause resulted from the same thing? Anyone with any ideas? Still fighting this claim with this argument.
