Avoid Allstate.
I have three polcies with Allstate, and have received the worst service.
Auto:
My Cougar was struck in Aug of 2002. The front end was hanging on the ground, anti freeze leak started. The damage to the person who ran the red light was severe enough to bend the rear axel of their car. Car was fixed, poorly. I lodged a complaint, and Allstate sided with their pre approved shop. The shop never aligned the front end (car was hit in front end), never check for the anti freeze leak, paint job was poorly done, and the shop but the damaged liscence bracket back on car. The shop refused to correct the problems.
Allstate told me that they wouldn't check the alignment since it was it the rim itself, or correct the leak. I was told I had to produce written proof of these problems, before Allstate would do anything.
For my cougar. I was told by a rep that its unbelieveable that I could have a problem, the shop only does excellent work. it must be me.
I asked him if he works for the shop, or the client.
I've requested written proof from Allstate, but they will not provide that of course. Allstate feels it doesn't have to justify anything, their word is it. The paying client has to provide all the written proof of damage.
I had my vehicle checked, the alignment was out, and the mechanic stated that it is very hard to determine if the leak is a result of the accident. He also told me that Allstate knows this, and knows that the client can not produce written proof.
I have had problems and extremely poor service with all my policies.
Home: had problems, complained to allstate.
received a letter giving me a blanket apology. Was told I should be happy, even though the problems were not resolved.
Auto. My contour was hit in Jan, 2003. An adjuster calls and tries to get my wife to say the accident was her fault. She was struck by a person who ran a red light, while she had the green. I spoke to this person and he tried to get me to go to a Allstate pre approved shop.
I refused and told the adjuster if was against the law to force the client to goto one of their shops. Adjuster got off the phone, and would not get involved in the claim. I had to handle everything, Allstate did nothing for its fees
Retirement: Allstate put my money in the wrong accounts, and charged me a fee they never disclosed.
Corporate office said they were sorry.
My problems with Allstate have been going on since June 2002. The reps. will not return you calls. I averaged 4 calls and two week time frame, just to get a response. They give you an attitude, tell you that you shouldn't complain., if your request a supervisor, they don't want to give you the information.
I was also informed that top managers resolved the car and home issues, after I sent a Complaint to the CEO. They provided these managers names, in a letter. I responded back saying these people never contacted me by email, phone, or letter.
Allstates response was that other people wrote the letters for the supervisors, the problems have been solved. I should be happy.
That's news to me, to bad the problems still exist.
Since I contacted the CEO. I sent a letter requesting Allstates proof that my car damage is not related, and answers to my questions.
My next step is to have my attorney contact Allstate and File a complaint with PA's Insurance commission
Avoid Allstate. Don't was your hard earned dollars unless you like, poor service, attitude, refusal to provide information to you when requested.
