The moped was not licensed, there are no licencing laws for mopeds in Nevada.: Contact a State Farm Claims Office directly if you want. Also---was the moped licensed for street use? If so, it would not normally be covered by homeowners insurance. Only motorized vehicles used in maintenance of the home (ie riding lawnmowers, etc.) would normally be covered. Mandatory insurance laws only cover liability coverage (covering your liability for other property if you damaged it with the moped); they do not address coverage for the value of your property - neither does mandatory auto insurance.

:
: I had homeowners insurance with State Farm in January 2003 when my brothers Moped was stolen from our patio where it was chained up. My insurance agent refused to allow me to make a claim. It seems to me that it should have been covered since it was private property, my brother is the home owner, and there are no mandatory insurance laws regarding Mopeds in the state of Nevada. Can anyone tell me if my agent acted properly?
