Call the adjuster and tell him your car is unsafe to drive and you need a rental immediately. If he balks, go to his supervisor/manager.
If you can afford it, rent the car yourself - make sure to take a good photo of the back of your car showing the lights are knocked out. If Farmers tries to weasel out of payment for the rental later, take them to small claims and show the judge your photo.
Normally, the responsible party owes you for a replacement during the reasonable period of repairs. If it is undrivable (and it is now because it is illegal), they owe you until the vehicle is repaired.
In my state, you are technically owed the money whether you rent a vehicle or not!
: I had a wreck with an insured of Farmers. I am having the worst trouble getting anything done. My Jeep was hit in the rear end, so I have no tail lights, blinkers, etc. So everyday some almost rear ends me. Like I can afford another wreck. What can I do to make this work faster. My truck is very unsafe to drive. I need some answers.
: Ok. When my dad got rearened he used a rental. If you can afford it, try.
: And depeneding on your net connection; try going to www.ask.com and searching for quick and cheap repairs in your area.
: Also try to carpool...if you absolutly need to.
