: : Another good idea; an insurance company, in most states, has a time limit during which they must respond to an inquiry. Phone messages become "he said, she said" kind of affairs. When you send your letter, send it certfied mail, return receipt requested. This give you proof you sent them a letter and they received it, as well as tends to grab their attention more.

: : : : We just had a car accident. We disagree with the insurance company (Farmers). Is there a government agency we can contact ?
: : : : Thanks.

: : : My suggestion to you, as a claims adjuster for another large insurance company, is to send in a letter of reconsideration, asking that someone else, preferably a supervisor, reviews the claim again...if that does not work, you can make a complaint with the department of insurance of your state, but keep in mind, the complaint will only be valid if they have not followed the department's guidelines....
:
So the government really covers the backside of insurance companies. Pretty discusting how it works. Gotta pay for insurance, yet how dare you file a claim.

I just wonder how you folks can work for the insurance industry. It's all about collecting money and NOTHING about helping the customers WHO PAY THE PREMIUMS!
