Another Primerica note--higher interest rates than the market, even if your credit is perfect.
Most important--3 YEAR pre-payment penalty.
Look for an independent mortgage broker in the yellow pages and see what they can do for you. You should be able to get a good-faith estimate for not much more than the price of a credit check (about $30 for a tri-bureau rated check). A broker will have many more sources than a PFS agent, who has only one.
: If you're asking a Primerica agent, good luck. You may be in for a long wait. Statistics show that turnover is Primerica is about 100% per year. In other words, most agents around this year will be gone this time next year.
: Have you tried calling a reputable lender? Interest rates are darn close to 5%. I have read recently about Primerica loan offers in the 7-8% range. That would be about $300 more per month in your situation.
