So tell us all, oh insurance wizard, oh learned one, two questions:
1. What does PIP stand for and is it present in every state?
2. Why did you seeminly separate medical/medpay coverage and bodily injury coverage? If she had no PIP/med pay coverage, would BI cover her medical bills in the settlement or not?
I know you won't answer the questions because you don't know.
Again, a battle of knowledge with you is much like the movie "The Untouchables" - as the great Sean Connery's character said - "...always bringing a knife to a gunfight"...
Your lack of knowledge and sanity is amusing.
: : "Assuming that your son is an adult, yes, he can sue you up to the limits of your insurance Bodily Injury coverage and also for reimbursement of medical costs also if you have that coverage in your policy."
: : Bodily injury settlements are determined based upon damages incurred, such as medical costs. Therefore "medical costs" are included in bodily injury coverage. If PIP coverage or medical payments are available under the policy (often $3,000-5,000 for medical expenses only), then that coverage would be paid outside of any lawsuit and without regard to whether your son may sue you.
: : "Since you say you were at fault for the accident, don't be surprised if the company raises your premium. Ask your son to pay for the increase in your insurance premium, only fair."
: : ??? This woman is obviously quite distraught. I do not see how an obviously flippant statement, trivializing her situation helps her.
: : Bottom line--consult an attorney in your state. Your son does not "automatically" have the right to sue you, and such suit may not be defended under your policy. Ask your attorney for an interpretation, not your agent or adjuster.
:
: : : : It depends upon the state. MOST states have done away with the Family Immunity Doctrine, which holds that you cannot sue family members.
: : : : Consult an attorney - this is sticky as well if he is a minor. In addition, take your actual insurance policy to the attorney and see if the thinks such a suit would be defended by your insurance company--some companies try to exclude intrafamily suits from coverage.
: : :
: : : : : My son and i were in a car accident it was my fault but my son was hurt real bad and almost died can he sue my insu company even if i am his mother /

: Oh I see that you now are adding PIP coverage to make it appear that you were thinking about before when you answered the inquiry.
: That makes three times now over the past few months you responded to a question erroneously without taking everything into consideration and when you were caught at it, you change your story about the coverage by adding an endorsement.
: Sure the inquirer is concerned, who wouldn't be it is her son. I give her a logical answer to the dilemma of the premium increase so she will not be burdened with the payment of an increase premium and then you open your mouth attempting to bash me again.
: I don't even think you are licensed. I think that you may simply be a Internet librarian looking up insurance information on the Internet reading it and then spewing on these message boards, and that's why you refuse to stand by what you post by letting everyone know who they are talking to. If that be the case, then you are a Charlatan, but a better speller than I am and nothing more than that.
: Let's alos not forget you were a PFS Agent at one time and you failed having your appointment cancelled on you by the company.
: Tell us, how much time did you spend with PFS working consumers over using your false, misleading and deceptive inducement presentations also to earn a living?
: By the way, when I receive "fightingutah" e-mail, if automatically goes into my spam mail and is deleted without being read.

: : : You say your son was in your car and I am assuming he was the only passenger. You have also stated that the accident was your fault.
: : : Assuming that your son is an adult, yes, he can sue you up to the limits of your insurance Bodily Injury coverage and also for reimbursement of medical costs also if you have that coverage in your policy.
: : : Please keep in mind that he would be suing you technically, but since your insurance company represents you, the money paid to settle the claim comes from the company because they represent you.
: : : Since you say you were at fault for the accident, don't be surprised if the company raises your premium. Ask your son to pay for the increase in your insurance premium, only fair.
