Collision.
Collision insurance coverage pays for damage caused in an automobile accident, when you are "at fault" (sounds like you were).
Comprehensive covers damage caused to your vehicle by any unknown party or "act of God".
By my own experience, be very cautious about making a claim. Your premium can really go up or even be cancelled if you start making too many. Consider your deductible amount and the consequences before making a claim.
