CLUE covers homeowners claims, but not auto. Auto insurers go by your motor vehicle record and credit rating.
: Most companies will not drop outright for a single accident, IF that's all you have in your rencet history, but the rates will go up. It really depends on who you insure with and what your driving history is like as to how much.
: Fortunately, or unfortunately there are things called CLUE reports. Has nothing to do with the DMV. It is information compiled from a variety of sources and many agents or insurance companies run a CLUE report as a matter or fact on every driver they are considering insuring. Assuming at least one of those six cars reported the accident, the information will follow the POLICY HOLDER as well as the person driving even if it doesn't show up on your DMV print out.
: Insurance companies are in the business of minimizing risk. Your policy is responsible for a loss now. That makes you a bigger risk than you were before, not only for this insurance company, but for any auto insurer you go to.

: : Call the company, but even with USAA, one bad accident is enough to cancel you. The points are a non-issue, as it was your son's friend who got into the accident. As long as he had permission to use the car (your son's OK is enough, the kid didn't have to have your OK unfortunately) then USAA is on the hook for the liability and will "count" it against you.
: : On the brighter side, the accident will not show up on yours or your son's driving record, possibly making getting coverage with another company easier (?) - maybe an agent can comment further on that possibility.
