My adult son had a DWI in Texas several months ago. We just heard about it. His insurance renewed August 26, 2003. Check for payment was received and cashed by State Farm before renewal date. Two days after renewal they call to cancel his insurance AND require that my wife and I never allow him to drive our vehicles, an unlikely event since he lives several hundred miles away. His car is in his name, and his policy was in his own name. My questions are:
Can they cancel a policy during its paid up term? Seems like a breach of contract to me.
Secondly, it appears he will have to seek insurance from the Texas High Risk pool. How does one go about doing that?
