: I have an accident policy and wish I had it sooner. My husband had been injured several times and we could have used that money. I work with several people who had substantial claims on their accident and cancer policies. Word of mouth from your co-workers or relatives may be the best way to go. Also I read a girl said you commit forever. That simply isn't true. Every year we have an open enrollment period when adddrop of policies is possible. When my co-workers got it the first year it was available, I passed. Then their claims checks came in within a week of the agent filling the claim. I new I wanted it after our accidents. Had to wait till open enrollment. Besides, if you got one or two policies and tried them out for a year to see if it was a good fit for you, it's not an unreasonable investment. I know what the alternative feels like financially and it isn't pretty.
