Enrique, regarding your defense of your 9/11 statement:

:::To take it to the next step and say I lied requires you to have evidence that I knew my statement was wrong BEFORE I made it. And since you have none, then calling me a liar makes YOU the deceptive person.

Enrique, youre saying in effect:
I didnt lie, because I didnt know what the truth was. But instead of arguing the accuracy of my statement, Ill attack your choice of terms.

Youre off the hook with me - you didnt lie about Primerica being the only insurance company to pay all 9/11 claims. However, as far as Im concerned, your credibility as a reliable source of information is shot. You have shown a lack of critical thinking and that you made no effort to assure your statement was accurate. It might be a while before some readers consider you a credible source of information. Consider the following:

Are you aware that there are legal requirements for Life Insurance companies to satisfy claims in a timely manner? Its discussed in the 1st link above: Requirements for the payment of death benefits are set under state laws. Not only were there social pressures for companies to pay all claims after 9/11, but also there were legal requirements. For your initial claim to be accurate, all other life insurance companies except Primerica would have to be in violation of New York laws.

Which is worse for your reputation, deliberate lying or spreading a lie out of gullibility or a lack of critical thinking? If your credibility is suspect, it really doesnt matter how it was put in question.

You know that insurance companies are highly regulated. It appears your mind was closed to the smell test for your RVP's claim that Primerica was the only company to pay all 9/11 claims. Why didnt the little bell go off in your head? Wouldnt all companies be required by law to meet their obligations? . If you check the 2001 and 2002 Annual Reports of New Yorks DOI, there was great satisfaction on the part of the NY DOI regarding the response of ALL life insurers to the 9/11 WTC attack.

You jumped through hoops to show that technically, you werent lying. So, technically, eric owes you an apology. You won a skirmish of semantics and lost the battle for your own credibility. You missed the larger issue.
