If you transfer these assets to another company, you will incur surrender charges on this contract. As far as the current agent receiving commissions, if it is a fixed annuity or equity indexed annuity he has already received his commissions.
Just curious, how was the agent "less than truthful"?
: I bought a tax deferred annuity from an agent( independent) of a well known company last year. Turns out the agent was less then truthful as to how the policy works ( my word against his ). As a result, I will be getting less interest then I thought I will this year. My question is this. Can I switch to another company to cut this man out from making anymore money from my policy ? I am now locked in with this annuity for quite a long time but will take quite a loss if I cash out now.
